The most famous music venue is the Sydney Opera House. Don’t worry if you hate opera; this opera house hosts all type of musical events attended by millions of people each year! Melbourne also has an opera house, the popular State Theatre.
If you are looking for concert halls, nearly every area can boast a decent one. Sydney has the City Recital Hall, Melbourne has Hamer Hall, Adelaide has the Adelaide Festival Centre, and Western Australia has the Perth Concert Hall.
If you are into up and coming music then there is no better place then local pubs and nightclubs to hear new talent. Some big names include Never Land Bar on the Gold Coast, the La La Land and Railway Friendly Bar in Byron Bay, as well as the Marble Bar and the Brass Monkey in Sydney.
If you are more interested in playing music than listening to it, you will probably be interested in the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, one of the best music schools in the country.
